No. The instrument exhaust lines (both waste and vent lines) are trapped and ready to be connected to an exhaust system.

The SPE columns and vessel filters can only be purchased through ANKOM.

The FLEX can process up to 10g of sample for vitamin and cholesterol analysis. The sample size maximum is dependent on analyte content, analyte homogeneity within the sample, and sample composition. Samples that typically require 10g sample sizes are high-moisture samples such as juice, milk, and wet pet foods. Most other samples are run at 0.25 – 5g sample size.

Crude and total fat analysis uses 1g sample per assay. Since fat is a macronutrient, homogeneity issues can be solved with proper homogenization or grinding prior to analysis.

If LOQ is an issue, please contact ANKOM for analytical support and guidance.

The FLEX Vitamin and Cholesterol analysis run time is a little over two hours. Technician time is only five to ten minutes of set-up prior to running the instrument. This includes weighing samples into each digestion vessel and loading the digestion vessels, round bottom flasks, and columns onto the instrument. After the method has finished, the user must reconstitute the isolated analyte and quantify chromatographically.

The ANKOM FLEX Total Fat analysis run time is just under two and a half hours. Technician time is only five to ten minutes of set-up prior to running the instrument. This includes weighing samples into each digestion vessel and loading the digestion vessels, round bottom flasks, and columns onto the instrument. After the method has finished, the user must transfer the isolated fat for gravimetric analysis or fatty acid profiling.
