XT4 for Fat/Oil: The XT4 filter bags are produced with porosity at the two to three micron level. The materials used support the use of most common organic fat solvents (petroleum ether, hexane, ethyl ether). The XT4 filter bag can encapsulate a wide range of sample types for the fat extraction process using the ANKOMXT10 Extractor, ANKOMXT15 Extractor or the ANKOMHCL Hydrolysis System. Each filter bag supports the demanding expectations of both commercial and private laboratories. ANKOM delivers the highest quality filter bags to support the instruments designed for their use.
Sealing ANKOM Filter Bags: The use of the #1915 (Domestic) or #1920 (International) heat sealer provides optimum results by ensuring complete bag closure. The use of a solvent resistant marker (F08) is also recommended for marking bags.
At various times during assays involving ANKOM instruments you will need to seal the ANKOM Filter Bags.
The HS Heat Sealer (120v 50/60HZ) is used for sealing ANKOM Filter Bags.

The HSi Heat Sealer (220v 50/60HZ) is used for sealing ANKOM Filter Bags.
Please specify the country in which the heat sealer will be used so that ANKOM can supply the proper power plug.
Replacement cover for the 120v and 220v Heat Sealers (P/N: HS, HSi). This is applied over the heating element and held in place with clamp strips. For installation diagram refer to Heat Sealer Operation Manual.
Replacement Insulator Strip on the 120v and 220v Heat Sealers (P/N: HS, HSi). This is adhesive-backed and positioned beneath the heating element. For installation diagram refer to Heat Sealer Operation Manual.
Replacement Silicone Rubber Gasket for upper pressure bar (in handle) of the 120v and 220v Heat Sealers (P/N: HS, HSi). For installation diagram refer to Heat Sealer Operation Manual.
To properly record results, it is best to label ANKOM Filter Bags before running an assay.
The F08 Marker is an acetone resistant black marker that can be used to label ANKOM F57, F58, XT4, and In Situ Bags.
