The largest contributor to poor TDF results is the effect of static electricity on the weighing process.
The TDF52 Bag Weigh Holder is used during the weighing process to eliminate static electricity while the bag is being weighed.
The last step in the Dietary Fiber extraction process is to rinse the samples with acetone. That process is not done on the ANKOM TDF instrument.
The TDF51 Bag Rinse Stand is used to hold the Filter Bags during an Acetone Rinse.
Before the final weighing step in a Dietary Fiber analysis, the bags must be dried.
The TDF50 stainless steel Bag Drying Rack has twelve positions for holding a full set of IDF/SDF bags when drying them in an oven.

When unscrewed, these screws (two total - one on each side of the ANKOMTDF Dietary Fiber Analyzer) allow the instrument to tilt forward for convenient access to the back.
This Cereal sample is to be used with our TDF instrument. The purpose of this check sample is both to ensure proper function of the instrument and correct procedural technique. If your results do not meet the expected range, first check your procedural steps. If the method has been followed properly, please contact ANKOM Technology at www.ankom.com/contact/analytical-services
The pneumatically operated Pinch Valve-IDF,SDF regulates the low of fluids to the IDF and SDF positions. Refer to Service Procedure TS008 for installation instructions.
The pneumatically operated Pinch Valve-Waste regulates the low of fluids to the Waste tube during line charges, flushing and diagnostic operations. Refer to Service Procedure TS008 for installation instructions.
The TDF Pressure Sensor Assembly monitors pressures of the six fluid lines and is used to identify weakness in tubing downstream of the peristaltic pump. Refer to Service Procedure TS011 for installation instructions.
The Vacuum Sensor Assembly monitors pressures on the supply lines and is used to identify empty containers, plugged fluid lines or damage to a supply line. Refer to Service Procedure TS013 for installation instructions.
The Paddle Bar Replacement Kits includes the Paddle Bar Assembly and tools required for the installation. The Paddle Bar functions as both a paddle mixer and heater with embedded sensors to allow for independent heat regulation at each position. Refer to Service Procedure TS021 for installation instructions.
This design incorporates individually replaceable paddles, which can be purchased separately as SKU TDF48.
The TDF72 CODEX Method kit is needed to run methods AOAC 2017.16 and AOAC 2022.01 on an ANKOMTDF Dietary Fiber Analyzer. NOTE: This also allows for running earlier CODEX methods AOAC 2009.01 and AOAC 2011.25 as described in the Operator's Manual Addendum document.
The kit includes:
- a new control panel with CODEX method functionality
- a buffer container for the sodium maleate buffer (1,000ml)
- an acetic acid container (175ml)
- a trizma base container (40ml)
- an Amylase/AMG container (40ml)
- 6-TDF97 glass filtrate cups (500ml)
Information about the reagents and enzymes used for these methods can be found in the TDF Dietary Fiber Analyzer Operator's Manual Addendum.
The In-Line Heater Assembly is a regulated heat exchanger that pre-heats certain fluids during delivery. Refer to Service Procedure TS018 for installation instructions.
The In-Line Heater Assembly is a regulated heat exchanger that pre-heats certain fluids during delivery. Refer to Service Procedure TS018 for installation instructions.
The TDF120 In-Line heater Core is used to replace leaking brass tubing on the In-Line Heater. It includes connected silicone tubing for ease of installation. The heater cartridge and thermistor (temp sensor) are not included in this assembly.
The TDF Thermistor Assembly is used to monitor and regulate the power input to the In-line heater to maintain a steady temperature. This is important when pre-heating fluids during rinses and 95% alcohol delivery.
The Mixer Flow Control Valve Assembly allows for better control and easier adjustment to the intensity of sample mixing to help ensure proper digestion.

The On/Off/Heat/Rotate Power Switch is used on the following ANKOM instruments: XT10, XT10I, XT15, XT15I, HCL, HCLI, RD, RDI, TDF, TDFI, D200, D200I, DELTA, DELTAI, A200, A200I, A2000, A2000I, FLEX & FLEXI. On the D200/D200I Daisy Incubator this switch also functions as the Heat and Rotate on/off switch.
Before doing a dietary fiber assay, you should label the filter bags in order to properly record results.
Use this marker for labeling the filter bags.
The Moisture Stop Weigh Pouch contains a desiccant packet which absorbs moisture within the zipper bag. It is used when cooling and weighing filter bags to avoid unwanted absorption of moisture in the dried samples which would skew results.
This is the electrical assembly that handles the AC input/output power needs of the instrument as well as converting power to DC for all components requiring DC current.
This 10amp fuse is used in 120v AC input to the HCl, XT10 and XT15 and in both TDF and TDFI on the DC output lines from the power supply. Used to protect against power surges.
The MUX-P board communicates pressure signals to the main controller and is critical in accurate pump tube test results, input pressure readings and vacuum readings during each fluid delivery.
The TDF107 Synthetic Grease,10 gm is a non-toxic lubricant used to minimize friction within the peristaltic pump, thereby extending the life of peristaltic pump tubing.
For application instructions, see TDF Service Procedure 28.
This brass valve body and piston is the mechanical component of the Distilled Water, Buffer, EtOH78 and EtOH95 valves. It includes the Valve Seat (Z132), Valve Spring (Z135) and Viton O-ring (Z133). This is replaced if corrosion has caused pitting or imperfections in the sealing surface within the brass valve, and does not require rewiring of the solenoid valve.
This tube replacement set is used as part of preventative maintenance and includes precut, bagged and labeled lengths of silicone tubing (3/16”OD x 1/16”ID) used in the delivery of reagents in the ANKOMTDF Dietary Fiber Analyzer.
Power Supply A is a 10 amp transformer that supplies 24v DC power to the pump motor controller (PMC) and analog multiplexer boards (MUX-T, SKU:TDF111 and MUX-P, SKU:TDF112). This supply is used for both 110v and 220v instruments.
Power Supply B is a transformer that supplies 25v DC power to the solenoid valves and paddle heaters. This supply is used for both the 110v and 220v instruments.
