ANKOM FLEX Analyte Extractor
Part #
Automated Saponification to Isolation
The ANKOM FLEX Analyte Extractor's innovative design and automated technology supports multiple analysis configurations and preparation:
- Vitamin & Cholesterol methods based on: AOAC 2011.07, EN-12823-1, EN-12822, EN 17547:2021
- Total Fat method: The test portion is treated under heated hydrochloric acid. The mixture is cooled and filtered. The residue is extracted from the filter with solvent. The extracted solvent is cleaned up with SPE technology, the solvent is evaporated, and fat is retained and measured gravimetrically.
- Crude Fat method: The test portion is submerged in heated solvent, prior to rinsing in cold solvent. After extraction, the solvent is evaporated, and fat is retained and measured gravimetrically.
For these analyses, the FLEX automatically digests, extracts, and evaporates multiple samples at one time, in about two to three hours, eliminating technician involvement. Isolated analytes can then be quantified gravimetrically (total fat, crude fat) or chromatographically (LC-DAD/FLD, LC-MS-MS, or GD-FID; Vitamin A, E, D, cholesterol, and fatty acid profiling).
- Automates and simplifies fat-soluble vitamins and cholesterol, or crude and total fat analyses
- Adjustable method parameters
- Custom Methods Software available for purchase to create original methods
- Automatic chemical additions reduce chemical handling to improve safety
- Eliminates bi-phase extractions & emulsions
- Reduces technician labor by eliminating transfer steps
- Reduces costs per assay
- Full record-keeping allows users to review and analyze historical data
- Touchscreen interface is easy to use with step-by-step instructions
